Have a listen to the Welcome by Dean Mann at Belfast Cathedral for some example audio.

Belfast Cathedral is a much-loved civic landmark that serves first and foremost as a place of worship. Yet with so many wonderful stories to be told and works of art to be seen, it has become a must-see destination for a growing number of local and international visitors.

So with this in mind the Belfast Cathedral recently commissioned Oli to design a new interactive visitor experience that included the development, design and installation of:

  • A new brand identity
  • A solid oak Welcome Desk
  • Design and production of a truly engaging 11-point self-guided audio tour communicated on PICKUP™ units
  • Design of the Official Guide and Souvenir Booklet
  • A staff training programme to ensure quality service
  • A social media marketing campaign

Fully researched and written by Oli’s in-house team of experts, the PICKUP™ audio tour provides the visitor with a 40-minute aural experience, bringing the Cathedral to life, whilst telling the stories behind its choirs and chapels, music and mosaics, sanctuary, spires and saints.

The new experience went live in May 2014.  So what are the customers saying about it?

“We think the audio guide is the best £4.00 we have ever spent. Very informative and easy to use.” Rachel, John, Libby & Joseph Wilton

“What a beautiful Cathedral full of rich history. The data given was very interesting.” The Railson Family, Washington, USA

“What a great experience we had today – the audio and pamphlet guides really enrich the learning. Thank you.” Mary, Chicago USA
